Rachel McAdams made her official Broadway debut on April 21, 2024
Rachel McAdams, the Mean Girls star, just marked another theatrical milestone with her official Broadway debut.
The Oscar-nominated Canadian actress celebrated her New York City stage appearance on April 21, 2024 and spoke to PEOPLE magazine as soon as she took her final bow on stage.
During the new play Mary Jane play, the 45-year-old teared up as she was handed a bouquet of flowers to mark the milestone while the curtains were called.
“I feel so honored to be here. Broadway was something I’d always wanted to do, but felt really intimidated by. So, to be standing on that stage feels like the completion of a longtime dream,” McAdams told the outlet.
“I’m less nervous now, but they’re still there; I still get nervous every night,” she added, revealing how she still hasn’t gotten over the feeling of stage anxiety.
Rachel McAdams further explained how she channels the feelings into ambition, saying, “And that’s okay! We know that there’s a certain amount of nerves that’s good and propels you forward and just makes the performance that much more vibrant, so you want to keep some of them. I’m embracing the nerves!”
